'Fix the jigsaw,

Let's address

The golden key to success

I, me, the entrepeneur

Invest in me, for sure...'

I am someone who does not focus on just one thing in life. In fact, as I was leaving school, careers officers would give me the usual words… “what would you like to do?”. Quite frankly, I hadn’t a clue, and 35 years later I still almost have that same answer. I’ve always wanted to be focused, but it just never, and doesn’t, happen. I quite like the idea of this, and I quite like the idea of that. So, maybe I should just aim to be my own entrepreneur!

I’ve always had a passion for wanting to create things. For a start, I’ve written poetry and words since about the age of 9. In addition, taught by my stepfather, I had a huge passion for clicking away at my old camera at about the same age. The trouble is, upon leaving school, my mother suggested I went to secretarial school to get some typing and office skills behind me, for something to fall back on as well as “do something constructive”. So, I did, then I landed a few office jobs until someone asked me why I hadn’t bettered myself and taken on a degree.

That’s when I applied to university as a mature student (27), and since I was heavily involved with the amateur dramatics, music, dance, singing, piano, decided it might be a good idea to look at theatrical degrees. So, I did. I was accepted on a theatre course in Yorkshire, and that’s where I studied for 3 years. I also found my passion for writing, and wrote lots of short stories and pieces.

During my degree,  I found jobs in tourism, customer service, a call centre, the legal profession, NHS public relations, agricultural marketing, a theatre box office, estate agency admin and reception. Many of these were temporary assignments, but kept my brain ticking over, kept me in employment in bringing the money in and gave me a great range of experience in many fields.

When I graduated, I struggled with which way forward, and, quite frankly, needed a change from theatre. I eventually found a driving job, which I did for some years. At the same time, I was offered a lot of work in TV. The two worked alongside for years.  I had left home, got my degree and needed to fend for myself.

During all this time, as I mentioned, I always wanted to do something of my own. I had this desire to utilise my creative skills and turn my ideas into something real. Trouble is, of all the ideas that I brought to my own table, nothing particularly took off the ground. I put my heart and soul into everything, but either didn’t have the money/funds to make any business work, or something happened, for example, I fell ill long term and struggled to focus on marketing or progressing further with anything I attempted to do. Please also see my mental health blog website that reflects many of the struggles I've faced (please see the link to my blog on the contact page).

One example being, I found somewhere locally where I could display a whole range of my prints/photography and offer them for sale. I managed to sell quite a lot, however, the costs of the unit and fees for the centre was far greater than that of my sale proceeds – so I had to end the contract. This was very sad, because I received good feedback for my work and started selling quite a number of prints.

Following an unexpected telephone call with someone recently, I was inspired to create a website where I could display my ideas, advertise my work, and show all my creations from over the years in one place to try and find a businessperson or investor to partner up with who could help turn any of my ideas into fruition.

We’d work on my projects together, negotiate and turn them into a business idea. The phrase “My idea, your money, our share” comes to mind. Ok, it’s my idea, so I want something out of it. But, since it’s my idea, I would want to keep the copyright, but maybe take a small ongoing share of the profits. If, of course, an artist or singer wants to invest in one of my poems, then the copyright stays with me, but I receive ongoing royalties for as long as...

So, I am reaching out to anyone who is willing to join me on any of these ventures. You might be inspired by one of my images, one of my food ideas, or an outfit I’d like to see become a fashion bestseller. Who knows what will fire your rocket?

I have been working on my ideas (inventions?) for a number of years now. I have tried to make some of them become realistic. However, I am struggling to market them, or spend time on just one item.

More to the point, I simply don’t have the funds to make any of them a business.

Here I’ve created a number of ideas that I would love to see materialise and become a reality. They are a range of ideas, stories; however you see or view them.

I am looking for investors who will believe in these and put money, marketing and resources to them in order to make them work. Investors that will work with me to make things work.

These are all my ideas. I am looking to work with businesses, investors and whoever comes forward to make any project work.

All I ask is that I keep any rights to copyright (after all, they are my ideas) and a small percentage of any ongoing proceeds and/or royalties. 10%?

I cannot be held responsible for anything or project that does not work.

I am wanting to advertise
